About the role
Gallo Mechanical is seeking a Senior Mechanical Construction Project Manager to serve as the primary point‑person for managing the entire life cycle of mechanical construction projects—from inception through closure. The role is responsible for delivering projects safely, efficiently, and effectively, meeting or exceeding budget, schedule, quality, and client expectations. Key duties include defining project requirements and scope, managing costs, overseeing field labor, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining strong customer relationships, and providing upward reporting to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee mechanical construction projects of various sizes and complexity.
- Ensure projects are built on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal or external clients to define project scope, schedule, deliverables, risks, and expectations.
- Oversee installation of HVAC and plumbing systems to meet code requirements, budget constraints, and schedule targets.
- Evaluate estimates and set up job‑costing systems with labor, material, and subcontract cost codes.
- Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders; evaluate submittals against contract drawings and specifications.
- Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews, keeping all participants and stakeholders informed to keep the job on time and under budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal customers.
- Evaluate and develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field, or significant related experience in Construction Management.
- 7+ years of relevant project management experience; experience in the mechanical construction/plumbing industry is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction management principles, environmental regulations, engineering project management methods, workplace safety, budgeting, employee supervision, and personnel management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple simultaneous tasks and smaller projects.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for complex, multi‑faceted issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
