Senior Project Manager, Architecture
Join a Top 10 global design firm in our Texas buildings practice that provides Architecture, Buildings Engineering, and Interior Design services with a long history and deep commitment to the education sector. Our Houston office is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a variety of key projects.
About the role
The successful candidate will lead clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning designs. You will collaborate with clients, design and construction teams, and project leaders to deliver innovative, sustainable prototypes with a green architecture sensibility. Responsibilities include Construction Administration, developing integrated design proposals, maintaining a building information model, preparing output drawings, and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex tasks on multiple, large-scope, highly complex projects.
- Participate in and help win work through project interviews.
- Plan, organize, and direct project work from inception to delivery.
- Keep the Principal in Charge informed of progress, deadlines, and deliverables while respecting decision-making boundaries.
- Lead the client and project team to ensure designs meet budget, schedule, program, and design intent.
- Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and work plans to achieve financial targets.
- Mentor Assistant Project Managers and motivate project teams.
- Ensure timely completion and documentation of Project Management Framework tasks.
- Lead project coordination and owner/site meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage change orders, contractor payment applications, and contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule.
- Work with Operations Manager to determine project staffing needs and recommend personnel.
- Direct client invoicing and manage collections.
Requirements
- Extensive project experience supporting proposal responses and winning work.
- Ability to simultaneously support one or more Principals in Charge on multiple projects.
- Strong understanding of accessibility codes, life-safety codes, building construction systems, materials, and industry standards.
- Proactive approach with minimal need for direction.
- Effective management of multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Team-oriented with clients, project teams, and contractors.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Newforma; experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUP preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture (Master’s degree preferred).
- Registered Architect required.
- Minimum of 10 years of architecture project management experience with a strong background in the education sector.

Pay
Pay ranges are provided in compliance with pay transparency laws. Final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus-eligible. Part-time compensation is pro-rated based on agreed working hours.
