About the role

Will consider candidates near other TRC offices. Working closely with the end customer, vendors, and project personnel, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the proper implementation and delivery of an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) within the client’s territory. You will oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, including assembling and managing delivery teams, assigning responsibilities, identifying resources, managing vendor and subcontractor engagements, and developing schedules for timely completion. The role requires judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills, and is essential for growing TRC’s consulting practice in Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems. Experience deploying GE ADMS systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver project(s) to completion, owning scope, cost, schedule, and risks while managing multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develop contractual Statements of Work with clients and suppliers, articulating precise assumptions and limits of responsibilities.
  • Strategize and implement methodologies to increase project margins.
  • Lead the project team, assigning work, monitoring outputs, and escalating resource gaps or individual shortfalls.
  • Act as TRC’s representative, ensuring alignment of client and TRC interests for project success.
  • Manage vendors to align contractual, operational, and relationship aspects for project success.
  • Foster a positive project work environment and lead the team to accomplish objectives on time and on budget.
  • Develop workflow plans to manage the project from initial request through systems analysis, technical design, implementation, procurement, testing, turnover to production, and client migration.
  • Plan, prepare, and track project schedules and budgets to ensure controlled completion of each step.
  • Prepare and maintain a risk assessment and mitigation action plan.
  • Maintain resource forecasts to ensure schedule compliance and desired results.
  • Update company and external stakeholders on project progress, changes, and emerging risks.
  • Lead project core team meetings.
  • Present project progress at Steering Committee level with participation from senior executives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the utility domain.
  • Experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technologies projects in an electric or gas utility environment.
  • Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of addressing C-level executives and technical teams.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong team-building and motivational skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or as needed to the client location.
  • Experience implementing large ADMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side.
  • PMP Certification.

Pay

Salary range: USD $125,008.00 – USD $180,024.00 per year. Compensation varies based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other factors. Eligibility for participation in the company’s annual discretionary bonus program, contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance.
