Senior Project Engineer - Transportation

About the role

In this role, you will support and lead design teams on transportation planning, design, and construction reviews in connection with a wide range of multi-disciplined projects involving various aspects of highway/roadway/drainage design, safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, transit design, site civil design, and design reviews. You will work closely with our Project Managers on current project requirements and planning future projects, as well as mentoring and developing a team to help strengthen their transportation knowledge and skills.

We are looking for candidates who possess a high capacity for self-motivation and can apply engineering and transportation knowledge to a variety of projects. You must also be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed design computations
• Performs preliminary layout, modeling, and design
• Researches and prepares rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies
• Assists with project design and preparation of plans and specifications
• Prepares cost and quantity take-off estimates

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
• 10+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
• Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8, and GIS
• Project management experience preferred

Pay

Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 depending on years of experience and credentials.
