About the role
Manages the engineering aspects of solar energy projects, from initial design to commissioning and operation. Ensures projects meet technical requirements, industry standards, and project objectives. Liaises with the Engineer of Record (EOR) of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Provides ongoing technical support to project construction teams during the construction phase of PV systems.
Responsibilities

- Provides ongoing technical support to project construction teams during the construction phase of PV systems.
- Understands the company’s quality guidelines, ensures compliance to all applicable and quality-controlled codes/standards, and helps with quality management (QA/QC).
- Aids in writing/reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders to assure that the scope of work is accurate and complete; that all the necessary provisions are included; and that the contract amounts are correct.
- Reviews thoroughly the Project Documents and becomes familiar with Project participants (i.e. Architect, Owner, local authorities, Subcontractors and Suppliers) to enable productive day-to-day operations between the company and other participants.
- Represents the company in project meetings, as required.
- Aids in determining submittal requirements and prepares and maintains submittal log.
- Expedites materials/equipment from the pre-approval stage through the final delivery stage to ensure the correct material/equipment is delivered to meet the project schedule.
- Reviews, corrects, and obtains approvals on all submittals.
- Aids in developing and maintaining the overall project schedule, and short-term schedules.
- Maintains daily records and prepares and submittal of weekly timesheets and/or prevailing wage payrolls to payroll clerk.
- Receives, evaluates, and disseminates correspondence, directives, questions, clarifications, and other information between Owner, Architect, Subcontractors, and Suppliers, to ensure the timely response of requested information, and changes and directives are being acted upon by all participants.
- Aids in maintaining project files and documentation, including transmittals, telephone conversations, submittals, letters, etc., assuring that project documentation is organized and complete so that a clear and accurate history of the project is maintained.
- Aids in commissioning and start-up.
- Gathers and evaluates project close-out documentation, and manages the documentation handover process required to meet key project milestones.
- Expedites and obtains all necessary permits (building, occupancy, etc.), all record documents (i.e. as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, warranties, etc.) are received in a timely manner so as to not delay construction progress or payments.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in the job offered or related.
- At least 2 years of experience must include experience with utility scale solar PV/renewables.

- Must have strong technical skills and knowledge of solar energy systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
