About the role

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Project Engineer to join our National Mission Critical team!

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in the overall administration of the project, from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Take a lead role in managing project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
  • Help prepare and maintain project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Aid in preparing and controlling the project budget by actively tracking job costs and labor productivity.
  • Participate in the subcontractor buyout and negotiation process.
  • Process and track change orders, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve day-to-day technical issues.
  • Assist the Superintendent in developing and managing the project schedule to ensure milestones are met.
  • Participate in and help lead jobsite coordination meetings, contributing to problem-solving and planning.
  • Champion Ryan’s "Safety First" culture and assist in ensuring the highest standards of quality control.
  • Take the lead in managing the project punch list process to ensure a timely and successful completion.
  • Assist in the compilation of all final closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in the commercial construction industry.
  • A passion for learning about technically complex projects is essential.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project management fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Building Connected.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset with the ambition to grow into a Project Manager role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the mission-critical sector (e.g., data centers, healthcare, advanced manufacturing) is a plus.
  • Experience with scheduling software such as P6 is a plus.
