Stark Tech is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical who excels by transforming mechanical system requirements into high-performance, energy-efficient, and fully integrated building solutions. You lead projects from conceptual design through construction support and commissioning, applying deep technical expertise in HVAC, hydronics, central plant systems, and air distribution to ensure every design is safe, code-compliant, and optimized for long-term reliability. You thrive at bridging early pre-construction solutioning with detailed engineering and field execution—collaborating across mechanical, electrical, structural, controls, and architectural teams to deliver systems that perform as designed in the real world. Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical building systems projects from conceptual design through construction support and commissioning.
  • Apply expertise in HVAC, hydronics, central plant systems, and air distribution to ensure designs are safe, code-compliant, and optimized for long-term reliability.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, controls, and architectural teams to integrate systems effectively.
  • Develop sequences of operation and integrate mechanical systems with Building Automation Systems (BAS) platforms.
  • Conduct system retrofits, upgrades, and performance optimization analyses.
  • Create Basis of Design documents, narratives, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and influence project teams through technical leadership and clear communication.
  • Translate technical value into meaningful business outcomes for customers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred. Advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical building systems or energy-driven infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience leading projects and managing engineering or cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in HVAC system design, load calculations, equipment selection, air and fluid distribution, and central plant systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable codes, safety standards, and environmental/regulatory considerations.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED) are highly desirable.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $93,007–$124,009 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Individual compensation is determined based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
