Senior Project Engineer - Electric Distribution
About the role
We are seeking talented and motivated Sr. Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be diving into quality control (QC) for multiple utilities, handling QC design for both pre- and post-construction phases. You’ll apply your technical expertise to ensure our projects meet all specifications, fully understanding the design requirements in your area.
Responsibilities
- Leading small to medium or multi-discipline projects, you’ll guide Design Engineers and other design professionals and prepare detailed technical analyses.
- Share insights with the team and engage with stakeholders to grasp the nuances of each task.
- Communicate any challenges related to scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Interact independently with clients, estimate proposals, and understand the role of business development in our operations.
- Evaluate design personnel and assign tasks to Designers and Drafters.
- Review vendor drawings, perform independent engineering reviews of simpler projects, and provide feedback.
- Offer input on potential process and design improvements.
- Ensure adherence to the quality control process, including documentation using the Quality Review Tracking tool.
- Self-evaluate your work before submission, complete tasks with minimal errors, and participate in peer and QC reviews.
- Play a key role in shaping a positive and productive relationship with a utility client, partnering with them to deliver reliable, high-quality electric distribution projects.
- Engage regularly with client teams, listen actively, and foster transparent communication to ensure expectations are aligned and outcomes exceed industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. (Civil & Structural Engineering acceptable)
- Experience with electric distribution including overhead/underground, subdivision, multi-family, and/or large/small commercial
Skills
- Technical expertise in electric distribution
- Ability to lead and manage projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and software
- Knowledge of quality control processes
