Summary Of Position

The Senior Project Engineer Diver position has responsibility and accountability for coordination and completion of assigned technical activities on assigned projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directs and/or performs field inspection and evaluation of structures in compliance with established procedures and standards.
  • Directs and/or performs testing of materials, interprets test results, and incorporates results into reports to ensure project specification compliance.
  • Directs and/or performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
  • Directs and/or performs the preparation of comprehensive engineering documents including inspection reports, design plans, and specifications.
  • Directs and supervises the work of project engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
  • Participates in internal and external project meetings and actively resolves project issues.
  • Affixes to project planning, scheduling, forecasting, and quality.
  • Affixes to client management, proposal preparation, project scoping, and estimating project costs.
  • Actively promotes a safe work culture.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil, structural or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE)
  • ADCI Commercial Diver
  • Valid US Driver’s License

  • FHWA-NHI #130053 – Bridge Inspection Refresher
  • FHWA-NHI #130078 – Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM) Refresher
  • FHWA-NHI #130087 – Ancillary Highway Structures
  • FHWA-NHI #130091 – Underwater Bridge Inspection
  • Structural Engineer (SE)
  • SPRAT Rope Access Technician
  • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course
  • NASBLA Boater Safety Course
  • First Aid, CPR & O2 Provider
  • TWIC Card
  • Valid US Passport
  • Commercial DOT Medical Card

Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Safety

  • Sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear.
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.

COMPENSATION

The annual pay range for positions in Tennessee is $89,000 to $99,000, depending on education and relevant experience.
