About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Self-Perform Commercial Drywall Division. This role provides broad exposure to all facets of commercial construction and offers significant opportunity to improve and evolve our current operations and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provides training and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Builds relationships with tradespeople, foremen, superintendents, and subcontractors.
  • Coverage of construction drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Assembly of monthly reports, the Zero Accident plan, and the Quality Assurance plan.
  • Development and maintenance of Submittals, Drawings, Specifications, and RFI logs.
  • Coordination and sequencing of utility line locates.
  • Participation in executing the Lean Principles throughout the project lifecycle (daily huddles, pull-planning, etc.).
  • Direct involvement with the project closeout process, delivery of the required documents, and project completion report.
  • Organization and submission of necessary documentation and submittals for Green Building or LEED certification.
  • Active discovery and resolution of Contract Documents discrepancies and constructability issues.
  • Daily field walks to address safety, quality control, and develop a thorough understanding of multiple trades.
  • Effectively supervising and mentoring entry-level Project Engineers and Interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of construction experience.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of Lean processes and self-performed labor productivity.
  • Thorough understanding of project documents and local building codes.
  • Fundamental understanding of Plans and Specifications.
  • Experience using Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, CMiC, or comparable construction technologies (plus).

Qualifications

  • Frequent computer and office equipment operation.
  • Frequent ascending/descending of ladders and stairs.
  • Constant movement of equipment up to 50 lbs to various locations on site.
  • Constant communication with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of the project team.
  • Ability to move around the job site on uneven surfaces.
  • Spend much of the day standing.
  • Able to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
