Senior Project Engineer - CEI

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day CEI project operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, governing regulations, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to the project team, interpret plans and specifications, and resolve field issues while documenting and communicating decisions clearly.
  • Review and evaluate Contractor submittals, including RFIs, CPM schedules, and claim packages, and provide well-supported recommendations.
  • Ensure CEI documentation, materials records, and correspondence meet contract, CPAM, and quality standards.
  • Lead and coordinate CEI project staff, ensuring high-quality documentation, communication, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Lead project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to support progress and issue resolution.
  • Manage project budgets, track labor usage, and support overall financial performance and forecasting.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and other project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance in technical, administrative, and leadership growth areas.
  • Support business development by identifying future work opportunities and participating in pursuit activities.

What You'll Need

  • An Engineering degree and registration in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain registration within six months).
  • Six (6) years of engineering experience, with at least two (2) years in major road or bridge construction.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • FDOT Advanced MOT certification.
  • Completion of CTQP QC Manager Course and passing the examination.
  • Completion of Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course.
  • A minimum of 40 hours per week.
