About the role
In this role, you will act as the technical lead and/or design authority for Process Automation engineering projects in Renewable, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power Generation, and Water treatment industries both in the US and global projects. You will make technical recommendations and enhance customer satisfaction by providing excellent service. You will ensure successful Distributed Control System delivery of multiple projects on time, within budget, and in line with specifications, quality, and safety guidelines. The work model for this role is hybrid, and you must be located in the Greater Houston Area.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, utilizing feedback to drive improvements for medium-complexity projects.
- Cost-effectively execute Distributed Control System project deliverables on time in accordance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements.
- Resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites in the US and abroad.
- Assist Project Managers with claims, customer specifications, safety standards, and technical details, costs, and deliverables for sales proposals.
- Create and deliver work plans, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Design, test, and commission Automation Enclosures, Control Logic, and Human Machine Interfaces with ABB or 3rd party Control Systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, working as an Engineer with ABB Distributed Control Systems.
- Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes, and tools.
- A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following workplace safety guidelines.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and a desire to learn about new technologies.
- A collaborative approach to working, demonstrating strong communication and leadership skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another engineering degree.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Position will be based in Houston, TX. Reimbursement for relocation is available.
