About the role
Veolia in North America is a leading environmental company known for its comprehensive water, waste, and energy management services. The position involves designing and managing water system facilities, project management, and system planning.
Responsibilities
- Designs pipelines, pump stations, pressure reducing stations, and other water system facilities.
- Leads as project manager for water system additions and modifications, coordinating with company personnel.
- Participates in and contributes to short and long-term system planning as assigned.
- Conducts analyses and assists with projection studies to ensure adequate service capacity.
- Manages consultants and contractors for project delivery, monitors/prepares capital expenditure authorizations, prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates, and regulatory submissions, and performs ongoing assessments of project risk/opportunities.
- Engages local agencies for successful project completion and permits.
- Serves as a customer liaison, providing updates and addressing inquiries.
- Develops and proposes solutions to improve project performance.
- Reviews designs for compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Advanced Engineering and/or Business degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in civil engineering, with 7 years in water/wastewater or public works.
- Extensive knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes, pump stations, and tank design and operation.
- Extensive knowledge of construction techniques and procedures.
- Proven success in project management and delivery.
- Experience with AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling preferred.
- Experience in managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects, budgets, and schedules.
- Knowledge of IDEQ regulations, capacity requirements, and growth projections.
- Ability to work in a team environment and exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and financial analysis skills.
Skills
- Strong design skills, particularly in pipeline design.
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to function in the digital world, using various software tools.
- Financial analysis skills, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for water pipeline and water facility designs.
- Pump station design, hydraulic, and water system analysis experience.
- Knowledge of site-specific public water system rules and regulations.
