Senior Project Engineer

• Manages the technical and administrative activities within a limited or broad scope of a project to ensure the fulfillment of contractual requirements while meeting the company's safety, budget, and schedule goals.
• Serves as the technology resource for the project team, specializing in an advanced technical skillset, whether that’s mechanical, electrical, equipment, and is often an expert in their field, adding enhanced value and skillsets to the project team.

Requirements

• Must have a degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
• Five years experience successfully managing administrative activities on a construction project.
• Able to perform the project management activities within a limited scope of work with little oversight.

Qualifications

• Expertise in systems, policies, and procedures.
• Trainer for other team members.

Skills

• Proficient in contract document logs (design drawings, specifications, ASI, etc.)
• Experience in managing bid package addenda.
• Ability to read and review project's owner's contract.
• Knowledge of design drawings and specifications to identify potential issues.
• Experience in generating and processing RFIs.
• Proficiency in preparing change orders to the owner's contract in CMiC.
• Experience in preparing owner invoices and budget changes.
• Experience in developing and assembling bid packages.
• Experience in contacting vendors and negotiating subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Experience in ensuring materials and equipment are delivered in accordance with schedule requirements.
• Experience in identifying and mitigating threats to the project’s schedule goals.
• Experience in modifying the schedule as required to reflect changes to the owner's contract.
• Experience in preparing subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and other commitments in CMiC.
• Experience in reviewing unpaid subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure payment according to terms.
• Experience in cost-coding subcontractor and vendor invoices.
• Experience in participating in proposal strategy, preparation, and presentations.
• Experience in directing preconstruction efforts including scope reviews, price negotiations, value engineering suggestions, etc.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The Senior Project Engineer works full-time and may support multiple projects at any given time. When supporting multiple projects, they will report to the leader of the individual project being supported.
