Senior Project Controls Specialist
About the role
The Project Control Specialist IV supports major program management jobs and individual project managers. They lead efforts in scheduling, cost control, document control, action items management, progress reporting, data analysis and reporting for one or multiple projects. They also develop and implement SOPs and train the team.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage project schedules from scratch and maintain schedules throughout the project life cycle.
- Develop and maintain project cost control tracking spreadsheet/system and keep track of contract task orders, change orders, and budget/expenditures.
- Establish and manage document control system.
- Review invoices and deliverables.
- Cookordinate project meetings and follow-up on action items.
- Prepare and maintain progress reports.
- Aid in developing proposal schedule, rate sheet, and cost proposal.
- Lead development and implementation of Project Management Information System (PMIS).
- Develop team training modules and SOPs.
- Aid in generating new tasks for the team by showcasing existing tools to internal and external PMs.
- This position has limited travel if necessary. On occasion, travel to RailPros headquarters, field offices or client offices, work sites and other project related locations may be required.
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in document controls plans and advanced-level understanding of scheduling principles.
- P6 Schedule QAQC.
- Advanced knowledge utilizing industry standard scheduling software including cost and resource loading.
- Proficient with other MS Office 365 Applications: expert in Excel, Power Query, and SharePoint document controls. PowerBI experience also required.
- Well versed in data analytics, modeling, and use of analytics software.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
- Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and vendors to successfully meet shifting needs.
- Apply logical thought processes and organize resources to solve issues and meet commitments.
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- 6-8 years of experience in Transit/Rail Program Management.
- Earned Value Management experience.
