Senior Project Architect / Senior Project Technical Designer

About the role
As a Senior Project Architect / Senior Project Technical Designer, you will serve as the technical lead on complex, medium to large-scale architectural projects. You will own the technical execution of assigned projects from inception through completion, deeply understanding the entire design process—from schematic design to construction administration—and applying advanced judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own the technical execution of complex medium and large-sized projects.
- Partner regularly with design and management leaders to execute the project, coordinate resources, and integrate inputs from inception to completion.
- Serve as a leading member of the project team in all aspects of project scope, including informing the work plan, supporting design, complying with jurisdictional requirements, producing content for all phases of documentation, overseeing construction administration, and coordinating with outside consultants.
- Direct and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Oversee specific technical design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions.
- Ensure production of construction documents aligns with design intent, and manage project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct code analyses and act as a point of contact with jurisdictions.
- Assist in managing client expectations and coordinate communication between project teams, subcontractors, and other disciplines.
- Conduct on-site observations and prepare architect’s field reports.
- Handle document coordination and design detailing.
- Lead technical team assignments to complete interior design and/or architectural projects.
- Create project designs and plans for all phases, coordinate building design consultants, and monitor drawings.
- Coordinate all trades and agencies related to building design while monitoring drawings.
- Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
- Plan and develop interior design and/or architectural projects that significantly impact major company programs.
- Perform submittal reviews during construction, maintain RFI and submittal logs.
- Explore subject areas, define scope, select items for investigation, and develop novel concepts and methods.
- Resolve complex technical and design issues, providing guidance to the team.
- Use advanced techniques and modify or extend theories, precepts, and practices.
- Develop solutions and create project design plans for complex client needs.
- Initiate project plans for all phases of one or more projects and prepare presentation and design support drawings.

Requirements
- Professional degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited university.
- Eight or more years of experience in commercial interior design and/or architecture.
- Proficiency in REVIT, Bluebeam, Newforma, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and other applicable programs.
- BIM modeling skills.
- Advanced experience in all phases of architecture and engineering, including project planning, construction document preparation, and field operations.
- Advanced knowledge of building materials, building codes, specifications, construction techniques, interior detailing, and millwork design.
- Advanced experience with building codes, ADA requirements, zoning, and jurisdictional processes.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate work.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, communication, and business writing skills.
- Ability to communicate design ideas and directions quickly and effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and staff.
- Flexibility to focus on a single client with various project types or multiple concurrent projects in different stages of development.
Pay
$105,000 - $125,000 annually
