About the role
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior Project Architect to join our Buildings + Places business line in Houston, Austin or Dallas, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Design Leadership: Spearhead the design process for projects across commercial, industrial, logistics, and interiors sectors, ensuring innovative and client-focused solutions.
- Project Coordination: Oversee all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design to construction administration, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders, to integrate architectural and technical solutions.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related communications.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Technical Expertise: Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards, while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy in project documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Architecture undergraduate degree. 6+ years of professional experience in architectural design and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Licensed Architect in the state of Texas.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and sustainability practices.
- Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, as well as visualization tools like Enscape or Lumion.
- Experience in municipal, commercial, and industrial projects, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs.
- Experience in leading client facing presentations, including programming, space planning, and conceptual design.
- LEED Accreditation or equivalent sustainability certification is a plus.
