Senior Project Accountant

An established construction business is seeking an experienced accountant to oversee project financials and work closely with its Controller and project managers. This is a hands-on role with direct involvement in forecasting, cost control, and project profitability. Responsibilities Manage project cost reporting, tracking labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.Prepare monthly forecasts, budgets, cash flow projections, and profitability reports.Partner with project managers to explain variances, identify financial risks, and protect margins.Review project billing, change orders, and percentage-of-completion accounting.Support financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting controls. Qualifications 6+ years of construction or project accounting experience.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.Strong understanding of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and forecasting.Advanced Excel skills and experience with construction accounting systems.CPA, public accounting experience, or JD Edwards exposure preferred.Ability to work onsite five days per week, with occasional travel within the NY area. Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
