Senior Project Accountant

Job Title: Senior Project Accountant Industry: Construction/Architecture - Finance & Accounting Location: Manhattan Compensation: $80,000 - 100,000 Employment Type/Work Schedule: Direct Hire/Permanent, 5 days in-office to start. Hybrid Flexibility once trained. Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Key Responsibilities Job Costing & Project Accounting Own job costing across all active construction projectsReview project budgets and cost code structuresPrepare and review WIP and anticipated cost reports and buyout logs alongside the project management teamTrack contract values, change orders, retainage, and billingsOversee AIA progress billings and owner invoicing for both general contractor and subcontractor workManage lien waiver collection and trackingPartner with project managers to review contract and subcontractor compliancePrepare the full monthly requisition on a timely basisOversee and/or handle day-to-day accounting operations Additional Responsibilities Mentor and train a staff accountantSupervise payroll processing and cost allocationsManage workers’ compensation auditsEnsure compliance with tax regulations and state tax filingsServe as accounting software system administratorDevelop and maintain accounting policies, and improve accounting processes and workflows Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience in construction or general contractingWorking knowledge of job costing and anticipated cost reporting, AIA billing, retainage, change orders, and construction contractsIntermediate ExcelExperience with Yardi, Textura, and Procore Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
