About the role
Jhpiego is hiring a Senior Program Officer – Nutrition in New Delhi. This full-time role provides technical and programmatic support for national and state nutrition initiatives by working closely with government departments, development partners and programme teams. You will lead programme coordination, provide technical assistance, support policy implementation and strengthen nutrition programmes across multiple states.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for the implementation of national and state nutrition programmes.
- Support the design of programme strategies aligned with Government of India priorities.
- Coordinate programme implementation with Programme Officers and State Government officials.
- Liaise with national and state government stakeholders for effective programme management.
- Coordinate with relevant ministries and development partners.
- Develop and review technical communication materials, advocacy resources and learning packages.
- Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation team on programme reporting and indicators.
- Prepare programme reports and document key learnings and best practices.
- Support the review of State Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs).
- Represent Jhpiego at national and state-level meetings.
- Monitor emerging nutrition research and share evidence-based practices with stakeholders.
- Travel regularly to states and districts as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Health Administration, MBA in Health or a related field.
- Minimum 5 yr of experience with the National Health Mission or related public health programmes.
- Experience in nutrition, maternal and child health, adolescent health, health systems strengthening or related programmes.
- Strong programme management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel as required.
