About the Role
The Senior Program Manager (PM) – Development position is instrumental in the product development lifecycle of the program, focusing on engineering development (i.e., Survivability, Structures, Mobility, Aux IPT’s) and corresponding testing phases. This role ensures integration within digital, mechanical, and electrical connectivity and functionality to meet program requirements. The PM will also lead proposal efforts, providing support and oversight for program execution. This position is fully onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.
Responsibilities
- Direct support to Combat Vehicle Program Director and other Combat Vehicle Programs.
- Lead a team by example, ensuring adherence to agreed processes and operating procedures.
- Work with key stakeholders to mature the organizational structure within the AR team, promoting clear responsibilities and opportunities for team members.
- Support the development and maturation of AR Program Management tools and processes.
- Contribute to AR Capture and Proposal teams in developing compliant and winning proposals.
- Support delivery and control of small-scale projects.
- Manage program data elements to ensure on-time delivery to the USG customer and maintain document configuration using Company Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
- Manage data transfers between AR and its subcontractors and vendors.
- Generate program metrics to support monitoring and control.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, efficiencies, and product portfolio.
- Travel to Germany and other sites in the US and abroad as required.
- Undertake other duties as tasked by the Program Director or their delegate.
Qualifications
- Education: BSc in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Vehicle Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 10+ years delivering large complex US Defense programs, preferably in vehicle development.
- Experience in capture, bid contract negotiations, and planning delivery.
- Proficiency with program management tools such as Earned Value Management, DELTEK Suite, MS Project, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with large cross-functional teams and gathering information for submittal.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Background Prerequisites
- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain suitability requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to speak German; IPMA certification (Level A or B) strongly desired.
- Training in PMP, Agile, Systems Engineering.
- Experience leading multi-disciplined, multi-company, geographically distributed teams.
- Experience with USG Defense deliverable systems (e.g., ARCUS).
- Knowledge of encryption software, import/export regulations (e.g., ITAR), and DoD processes.
- 5+ years of data management experience.
- Prior experience with system engineering practices.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Support travel of up to 25%, including trips to Germany and other international sites.
- Work in a workspace with close proximity to others.
