Senior Program Manager, Cloud Responsible AI

The Cloud Responsible AI team is guided by Google’s AI Principles and mission of making information universally accessible and useful by working to ensure our AI products work well for everyone. The team builds customer and industry trust in Cloud AI products and helps differentiate Google Cloud from competitors through products, programming, and tooling. We collaborate to identify new ways of thinking about Responsible AI opportunities, potential risks of harm, and concrete paths forward.
As a strategic Individual Contributor and Engineering Program Manager on the Cloud Responsible AI team, you will be an expert in architecting standardized safety processes for enterprise AI products and leading complex model safety evaluations. You will proactively incorporate cross-Google Responsible AI (RAI) practices and evolving global regulatory requirements into Cloud programming. Your focus is on ensuring the long-term success of our products, optimizing for benefit to society and Google’s enterprise customers, while strictly limiting potential harm to end users.

Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across DM, Vertex, PSO, and Compliance to architect and deliver responsible AI solutions.
- Refine and implement enterprise-specific safety standards and RAI governance frameworks, translating ethical principles into actionable, consistent guidelines.
- Own the end-to-end pre-launch safety, neutrality, and testing strategy for prominent GenAI products. Provide authoritative, data-driven launch assessments to guide executive product decisions and mitigate human risks.
- Operationalize systems to ensure adherence to global regulations like the EU AI Act and ISO 42001.
- Engage strategic enterprise customers to gather feedback, deliver RAI workshops, and build customer-centric safety tooling.
- Define and maintain a safety product roadmap that anticipates market risks and aligns with Google’s long-term strategy.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program or project management.
- 8 years of experience in trust and safety.
Preferred qualifications
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

Pay
US: $188,000 - $275,000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
