About the role

The Senior Program Coordinator, Advocacy for Incarcerated Muslims (AIM) plays a crucial role in supporting incarcerated individuals and their families through advocacy efforts. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the issues faced by incarcerated communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality of life for incarcerated individuals and their families.
  • Collaborate with external organizations to secure resources and support for AIM initiatives.
  • Conduct outreach to incarcerated individuals, family members, and community stakeholders to gather feedback and build relationships.
  • Prepare and present reports on program activities and outcomes to funders, partners, and the public.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all program activities and communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, public policy, or a related area.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with incarcerated populations or similar advocacy roles.
  • Experience in grant writing and securing funding for social justice initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data management software.
