About the role

Join TKDA, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm with 115 years of proven expertise, as a Senior Professional Water-Wastewater Engineer. We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead complex public and private water projects, mentor the next generation of talent, and shape project strategy from concept to construction.

Responsibilities

  • Design municipal treatment facilities and private development systems
  • Drive business development and represent TKDA at industry events
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage projects with engineering fees in excess of $1.0 million
  • Mentor and develop a team of engineering professionals
  • Apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering and Professional Engineer registration in the State of Minnesota
  • Minimum of five years of experience directly managing public and private water and/or wastewater treatment infrastructure and facility projects
  • Previous experience with development of conceptual and detailed plans and specifications for construction
  • Previous experience managing projects and leading a multi-disciplined project team
  • Demonstrated ability to apply effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 15%) for team meetings, client consultations, site inspections/visits, etc.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment
  • Effective business development skills demonstrated by a track record of securing public and private contracts within the Twin Cities metro area, throughout the State of Minnesota, and across the upper Midwest
  • Previous client management experience with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain client relations and secure business opportunities
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcMap, SWWM, AFT Fathom, SewerCAD, HydroCAD, WaterCAD and/or Revit

The listed salary range reflects base pay for candidates with 10-20 years of related experience. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.

Hybrid Work Environment: Tuesday - Thursday in office | Monday & Friday WFH
