About the role
The Senior Professional Engineer, Structural is responsible for designing and overseeing the structural integrity of manufacturing and heavy industrial facilities in Bloomington, Minnesota and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role requires a deep understanding of structural engineering principles and extensive experience in the design and construction of large-scale industrial structures.
Responsibilities
- Designing structural systems for new and existing facilities
- Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
- Managing project schedules and budgets
- Performing site visits to assess structural conditions and provide recommendations for improvements
- Leading multidisciplinary teams to resolve complex engineering challenges
- Preparing detailed reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- M.S. in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum 10 years of professional structural engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one state
- Experience with heavy industrial facility design and construction
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of advanced structural analysis software
- Experience with steel, concrete, and composite materials
- Understanding of seismic and wind loads
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
