Senior Production Underwriting Specialist (Hybrid)

About the role
As a Senior Production Underwriting Specialist, you will support Commercial Underwriting leaders in achieving their financial, workforce, and operational objectives by transforming complex data into actionable insights. You will connect data across financial, capacity, and operational domains to uncover performance drivers, frame tradeoffs, and translate complex information into clear, compelling narratives that help leaders understand what is changing, why it matters, and where to focus decisions and action.
In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110 or St. Joseph, MO 64507. Depending on the candidate pool, this position may be filled at a lower level to maintain alignment with experience and qualifications. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Work with internal business partners to develop metrics, prepare reports, and deliver underwriting data and analysis that supports the overall underwriting strategy and improves underwriting operations.
- Lead projects and initiatives to support the understanding of underwriting performance from a book perspective as well as from an Operations perspective.
- Provide the Underwriting organization with progress of underwriting initiatives as well as identify and address class/segment performance issues inclusive of profit and growth findings.
- Ensure analysis and reporting accuracy and integrity; explain performance drivers and provide insights into performance trends.
- Communicate findings to various stakeholders and leadership with recommendations for actions to address business changes, trends, and issues.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging data to identify insights and using those insights to improve performance.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of property and casualty insurance practices, standards, and concepts.
- Solid knowledge of underwriting guidelines, compliance, and risk concepts in area of expertise.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, quantitative, and analytical skills.
- Strong Excel skills required; ability to pull data and create dashboards preferred.
- Travel requirements up to 10%.
Qualifications
- Experience providing robust business insight via data storytelling.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing software tools to query and report data.
- High-level understanding of database, data structures, and visualization tools.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (specifically Big Query), Tableau & Data Studio (preferred).

Pay
Compensation range: $88,000.00 - $145,000.00 (salary).
