Responsibilities
- Production Operations Leadership
- Direct and coordinate production operations across assigned clean-room manufacturing areas.
- Establish and communicate daily and weekly production targets based on master schedules and material availability.
- Maintain throughput and on-time delivery to downstream operations.
- Review production performance data, efficiency metrics, and yield indicators.
- Ensure proper setup, operation, and handoff of production equipment.
- Support the review and execution of shop traveler packets, work orders, and parts lists.
- Enforce adherence to all applicable operating procedures (OPs), control plans, and process specifications.
- Escalate deviations through the nonconformance reporting (NCR/NCMR) process.
- Conduct and support spot audits on production processes.
- Support internal and external quality audits by ensuring records are current and process execution is audit-ready.
- Partner with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Identify and escalate recurring process issues.
- Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs).
- Review and provide input on procedure revisions and new OPs.
- Scheduling & Production Planning Support
- Collaborate with Planning teams to align shop-floor activities with master schedules.
- Track and report production progress against schedule.
- Communicate risks and recovery plans to Production Management.
- Quality Systems & Process Compliance
- Enforce adherence to all applicable operating procedures (OPs), control plans, and process specifications.
- Escalate deviations through the nonconformance reporting (NCR/NCMR) process.
- Conduct and support spot audits on production processes.
- Participate in root cause analysis activities (5 Whys, 8D).
- People Leadership & Development
- Directly supervise Production Supervisors.
- Partner with the Production Training Supervisor to ensure position-based training requirements are completed.
- Identify and develop high-potential employees for advancement.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and stretch assignments.
- Conduct performance reviews, document performance issues, and administer corrective actions.
- Foster a team environment emphasizing accountability, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Process Improvement & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Quality teams.
- Support process qualification activities, experiments, and implementation of engineering changes.
- Identify and escalate recurring process issues.
- Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Ensure full compliance with all EHS policies, chemical handling procedures, and clean-room safety protocols.
- Conduct or participate in safety observations, incident investigations, and near-miss reviews.
- Reinforce a culture where safety is a non-negotiable operational value.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
- Proven ability to read and execute production schedules, shop travelers, and work-in-process tracking systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse production workforce across multiple shifts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of enterprise systems including SAP (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Demonstrated knowledge of back-end semiconductor processes including wafer grinding, dicing, singulation, plating (electroless nickel/gold), or related operations.
- Experience working in ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environments with familiarity with quality management systems, nonconformance processes, and corrective action methodologies.
- Familiarity with clean-room protocols and PPE requirements.
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts.
- Prior experience conducting or participating in internal quality audits (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent combination of experience considered.
