Your Role

The Senior Production/Materials Planner is accountable for end-to-end production and materials planning, ensuring customer demand is met through an integrated, feasible, and cost-effective plan. This role owns the Master Production Plan (MPS) and Material Requirements Plan (MRP) across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons, balancing customer commitments, manufacturing capacity, material availability, inventory targets, and cGMP compliance.

This role acts as the single point of accountability for supply demand balance at the site, translating demand into executable schedules and material plans while proactively managing risks.

Your Profile

Integrated Planning Ownership:

  • Own and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Translate demand forecasts, firm orders, and revenue targets into feasible production and materials plans.
  • Balance service level, capacity, cost, and inventory tradeoffs and escalate constraints with clear options.

Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Develop and approve weekly and near-term production schedules, ensuring optimal plant utilization.
  • Align production sequencing with material availability, equipment constraints, and labor capacity.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, WIP status, and execution risks.
  • Drive corrective actions for deviations impacting On-Time In-Full (OTIF).

Materials Planning & Inventory Management:

  • Develop and maintain the site material plan aligned to the MPS.
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging under cGMP constraints.
  • Establish and optimize Reorder Point (ROP)/Reorder Quantity (ROQ), safety stock, and storage-capacity-based policies.
  • Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and planning master data integrity.
  • Monitor and mitigate expiry, obsolescence, and excess inventory risks.

Supply Chain Risk & Change Management:

  • Identify and proactively manage risks related to: Capacity constraints, Supplier performance, Material lead times, Engineering and quality changes.
  • Lead Supply Chain-related Change Control activities (new sources, spec changes, vendor changes).
  • Cookordinate resolution of material and production constraints with QA, Ops, Engineering, and Procurement.

Performance Management & Communication:

  • Define, track, and report site planning KPIs, including: On-Time In-Full (OTIF), Production Schedule Performance (PSP), Schedule adherence, Inventory turns / DIO, Obsolete and at-risk inventory.
  • Provide clear planning scenarios and recommendations to site leadership and corporate stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and KPIs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong end-to-end supply chain planning mindset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and scenario-planning skills.
  • Ability to make trade-off decisions under constraints.
  • Strong communication skills; able to influence across functions.
  • High proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and Excel.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced cGMP environment.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in production planning, scheduling, and/or material planning in regulated manufacturing (pharma preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience owning MPS and MRP.
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.
