Senior Production Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Support preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment and special projects for the manufacturing department. Perform a variety of duties in electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or optical areas, including troubleshooting, adjusting, testing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, components, devices, or systems.

Schedule

Sunday - Thursday, 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Ability to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Be self-motivated and able to work as a member of a team when needed.
• Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance to safety guidelines and SOPs.
• Follow and promote on-the-job safety expectations, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following cGMP rules and guidelines in all designated areas.
• Maintain proper housekeeping expectations.
• Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
• Perform all assigned PMs and work orders on time and make preventative maintenance checks and inspections as required.
• Perform alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
• Respond to production-down issues in a manner that minimizes downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
• Test equipment after repairs and leave equipment and area in a clean, safe condition.
• Identify and purchase/maintain spare parts inventory.
• Maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP).
• Provide leadership to other engineers through effective communications, coaching, training, and development; eliminate roadblocks to help the team move forward.

Requirements

• Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical systems, or related field required.
• Six or more years of relevant experience required.
• Required experience with industrial/commercial electricity, Building Management Systems, and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Preferred experience with pipefitting, WFI or USP water systems, air compressors and vacuum systems, chilled water system maintenance and operation, welding, machining, shop equipment operations, 3-D printing, and Root Cause Analysis.

Working Conditions

• Willingness to work in a plant producing radioactive materials and participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneel, crouch, twist the upper body, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.
• Must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation.
• Wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment.
• Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, conveyors) are used when possible; proper lifting and movement techniques are necessary to prevent injury.
• Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.
• May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
• Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable, and toxic materials, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
• Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes and work in a team-based environment.
• Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
