Senior Production Lead
About the role
Supervise, mentor, train, and coach employees to meet safety, quality, and production goals. Act as backup to the supervisor by overseeing an entire line or department. Provide guidance and leadership by holding employees accountable to standards and expectations in a professional manner and set an example by following all company policies.
Responsibilities
- Communicate work assignments to employees, making adjustments as needed.
- Ensure production schedules are met and identify problems that could prevent goals from being met.
- Hold daily start up meetings, communicating goals and objectives for the day.
- Support the Supervisor in establishing expectations and accountability.
- Complete quality and production reports, ensuring efficiency targets are met.
- Train and onboard new hires.
- Help with the cross training of employees so they are proficient at multiple jobs.
- Enforce safety and quality requirements, conducting daily safety training and audits.
- Offer suggestions for process improvement to management.
- Fill in on the production line when needed to cover vacancies or attendance issues.
- Responsible for the housekeeping in their area of operation.
- Communicate and work closely with the Supervisor.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience with previous supervisory experience preferred. Superior verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required.
Qualifications
Frequent use of company communication devices are required such as a computer, phone, and other office electronics. Physical fitness to include movements, positioning, remaining stationary which include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance, 80lbs-100lb with assistance.
