Senior Product Security Engineer

About the role

Lead security assessments and vulnerability operations for Cloudflare’s core software products. Conduct deep-dive security reviews, manage product security findings, oversee the technical triage of the external Bug Bounty program, shape pentest strategy, and mentor junior engineers.

• Analyze system architecture and threat models for new features.
• Ensure accurate triaging and timely mitigation of product-related security findings.
• Oversee the technical validation of Cloudflare’s external Bug Bounty program.
• Shape the scope of internal and external penetration testing engagements.
• Work autonomously to identify and implement AI-driven solutions for automated code analysis and triage.
• Mentor junior engineers and cultivate security champions within engineering organizations.
• Establish modern, paved-road developer guardrails for security practices.

Requirements

Senior-level expertise in Product/AppSec, practical AI & automation engineering, advanced threat modeling & risk analysis, vulnerability lifecycle ownership, high influence & communication skills, and desirable skills such as offensive mastery, program management experience, and integration of hardware security features into production code bases.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• Extensive experience in Product or Application Security within large-scale distributed cloud environments or SaaS platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to build production-grade automation scripts and tools.
• Mastery of threat modeling methodologies and analytical mindset.
• Proven track record of managing, routing, and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities across multi-stakeholder engineering organizations while strictly enforcing SLAs.
• Superb cross-functional leadership skills.
• Familiarity with offensive security tooling and modern exploitation techniques.
• Experience in integrating hardware security features into production code bases.
