About the role
The Senior Product Security Engineer serves as a security point of contact for software, firmware, and physical product development teams across Allegion's global enterprise. They collaborate with product development teams to ensure high standards of quality, security, and data privacy throughout the system lifecycle. Reporting to the Director of Global Product Cybersecurity, this role focuses on ensuring Allegion's systems are reliable, scalable, high-performing, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Serve as security point of contact for software, firmware, and physical product development teams across the enterprise including matters related to data privacy, integrity, authorization, device, and application security.
- Use in-depth knowledge of secure development processes to help development teams build, verify, and maintain secure products.
- Aid in security architecture design of firmware to ensure sufficient security in communication, authorization, authentication, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Contribute to security requirements that guide product development toward the achievement of applicable security standards and certifications.
- Investigate emerging security threats, determine applicability to Allegion products, and proactively work on mitigations with affected teams.
- Participate in solution assessments across the solution lifecycle: concept, design, pre-deployment, post-deployment, end of life.
- Identify and prioritize vulnerability remediations for development teams while explaining their importance to stakeholders of various security backgrounds.
- Additional responsibilities may include performing penetration testing and ethical hacking on Allegion products.
- Approximately 15% travel may be expected.
Requirements
- 5+ years of electronic device or firmware development experience.
- Demonstrated focus on application security/cybersecurity.
- Experience working with Internet of Things devices.
- Knowledge of going beyond generic security vulnerability remediation advice into applied cybersecurity concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to influence and partner with all levels across the enterprise on matters of product development, software development, and cloud deployment/operations including risk mitigations.
- High degree of learning agility required to quickly gain visibility across Allegion's global software and product portfolio.
- Highly technical practitioner with working knowledge of delivering secure products and services globally using modern technologies.
- College degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent education/experience required.
- Related industry certifications are preferred.

Pay
The expected Base Salary Range: $123,550 - $142,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
