About the Team / Product

The Justworks Product team advances our mission by building products that extend levels of personal care and deep expertise that our customers have never experienced before. They craft innovative solutions that guide users through the most complicated challenges of running (and working for) a small business, with ease. The team deeply understands complex regulatory spaces like FinTech, Healthcare, and HRTech, and has a keen intuition for connecting customer needs with our business’s risk‑management and commercialization strategy. Our Product Managers lead highly collaborative creative endeavors, bringing together stakeholders across engineering, design, data services, operations, and customer‑facing teams to deliver tangible value. By joining us, you’ll be part of an experienced team of Product Managers with a proven track record of building large‑scale software products that impact small businesses worldwide.

About the Role

The Product Foundations & Time domain stewards the core experiences, infrastructure, and workforce tools that underpin how administrators and their employees navigate, track, and manage their work on Justworks. It owns the systems that enable accurate time tracking, PTO and time‑off management, mobile access, reporting, navigation, and shared product surfaces, forming the reliable, high‑performance foundation that supports every Justworks product and empowers businesses to stay compliant, productive, and connected.

Within Product Foundations & Time, the Time mission team owns how Justworks customers manage workforce time: time off and time worked. Time Off covers leave policies, PTO balances, and the workflows admins and employees use to request and approve time away. Time Worked covers how hours are captured, reviewed, and passed to payroll across Justworks’ customer base. As a Senior Product Manager on Time, you’ll drive the roadmap for the Time mission team, scope and prioritize new initiatives with research‑backed case development, and work through the complete product development lifecycle to successful delivery. You’ll navigate regulatory and operational complexity, translate compliance requirements and payroll dependencies into simple product decisions, remove obstacles, and foster team camaraderie to ensure high‑quality output aligned with Justworks’ business objectives. You’ll operate independently, clearly articulate reasoning behind decisions, and collaborate closely with engineering, operations, compliance, and customer‑facing teams to address evolving workforce time‑management needs.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the product vision and roadmap for your respective pod.
  • Conduct high‑quality research to inform case development and product decisions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the PDLC and effectively tie insights to roadmap outcomes.

  • Demonstrate a rich understanding of engineering concepts, concerns, and trade‑offs, and effectively communicate them to manage stakeholder expectations around deadlines and scope.
  • Drive camaraderie with your team while demonstrating effective collaboration with PMs across other pods/teams.

  • Experience leading complex, cross‑team initiatives from ideation to execution.
  • Comfortable engaging with technical concepts and working closely with engineering partners.
  • Experience building new products (0 to 1) as well as a track record of shipping continuous product improvements to an existing product portfolio at scale.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of breaking down complex problems for team execution against business needs.
  • Deep user empathy and a high bar for user experience.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively conveying product‑related matters, including changes in scope or strategic direction.
