Senior Product Manager - Packages, Capital One Travel

About the role

Packages launched last year as Capital One Travel's latest vertical, allowing customers to book flights and hotels together in a single, bundled transaction. It's working, and now we're scaling fast. We’re currently focused on improving the mobile funnel, expanding how we merchandise inventory, adding new products like car rentals, and continuously removing UX friction points.

Responsibilities

  • Runs your own user research
  • Writes SQL to diagnose where to improve the flow
  • Works with design from scratch
  • Writes specs that engineering can actually build from
  • Set up A/B experiments
  • Build AI-assisted prototypes
  • Keep a close eye on how each ship moves conversion and the Packages P&L

Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field), Business or Marketing
  • Bachelor's degree in any field and 4 years of Product Management experience

Qualifications

  • Analytically self-sufficient: You pull your own data. You write SQL queries, design your own experiments, and diagnose funnel problems without handing them to a data team.
  • An AI-native builder: You use AI tools in your actual workflow and build prototypes using Claude Code and Figma MCP. You can point to things you've shipped because of AI, not just things AI helped you draft.

Benefits

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

  • McLean, VA: $200,700 - $229,100 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
  • New York, NY: $219,000 - $249,900 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
  • Richmond, VA: $182,500 - $208,300 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

Schedule

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

Pay

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).

Skills

  • Mobile-native consumer PM: You've shipped transactional or ecommerce experiences on mobile.
  • You have design taste and understand information hierarchy.
  • You don't wait for finished mockups to have opinions on layout and flow.
  • An execution driver: You ship a lot and you ship fast. Your PRDs are precise enough that engineering doesn't need to come back with a dozen clarifying questions before they start building.
