Senior Product Manager, Kafka Connect

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of Confluent Connect’s Enterprise feature portfolio. This role involves enabling seamless, enterprise-grade integration between Kafka and common external systems, supporting on-premise deployments and managed services in Confluent Cloud, and incorporating AI/ML capabilities into product features. You will also be the primary point of contact for customer success initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Conceive and develop major product initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer needs, engineering, design, and go-to-market strategies.
• Collaborate with the field to drive GTM initiatives and ensure successful market growth.
• Work closely with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to define and execute product strategies and roadmaps.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Ensure that all necessary resources are in place for successful product launches and ongoing support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software product manager, preferably in an enterprise context.
• Strong empathy for enterprise customers and a track record of solving their problems with software.
• Ability to craft comprehensive product strategies and roadmaps in collaboration with various teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong technical background, particularly with distributed data systems, public and private clouds, and stream processing.
• Experience with modern integration platforms is beneficial.
• Experience with enterprise software features such as security, networking, and observability is advantageous.
• An MBA is considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
