About the role

The Senior Product Manager will serve as the execution backbone of Valeris’s Innovation Pods, scaling the discipline that keeps growth productive. They will own the backlog, requirements definition, and day-to-day delivery accountability across pod initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Backlog & Requirements Ownership: Own pod backlogs end to end, grooming, refining, sequencing, and readiness, ensuring engineering always has a clear, prioritized queue of well-defined work.

  • Translate operational pain points and market problems into clearly defined requirements, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria.

  • Maintain a single source of truth for what is being built, why, and what done means, keeping requirements current as solutions evolve.

  • Partner with Operations SMEs to ensure requirements reflect real-world workflow scenarios and edge cases.

  • Initiative Intake & Prioritization: Steward the Initiative Document process, helping authors define the problem, current-state impact, proposed solution, expected outcomes, complexity, and ROI. Apply the prioritization scoring framework consistently and protect the pods from becoming a backlog of competing priorities.

  • Delivery & Sprint Execution: Drive the pod operating rhythm, coordinating cross-team dependencies, and maintaining the shared dependency log. Coordinate with Operations and Engineering to manage scope, track progress, and manage risk.

  • Shadow Mode & Validation: Define acceptance criteria before shadow mode begins, coordinate validation of new capabilities, and track post-deployment performance against success measures.

  • Cross-Pod Coordination & Scaling: Establish and standardize product-owner practices, and help establish how initiatives spanning pods are owned, sequenced, and delivered without duplicated investment.

  • Stakeholder & Operational Partnership: Act as a reliable bridge between Product, Operations, and Engineering, gather structured feedback, and communicate delivery status clearly.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in product ownership, product management, or delivery leadership, including hands-on backlog ownership for engineering teams building net-new capabilities.

  • Demonstrated success translating ambiguous operational or market problems into clear, buildable requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria.

  • Strong command of agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, story writing, and managing delivery against a predictable cadence.

  • Experience working directly with engineering teams to sequence, scope, and ship software, and to manage cross-system dependencies.

  • Healthcare, life sciences, patient access, hub services, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, or patient support program experience, or a track record of ramping quickly in complex regulated domains.

  • Operational systems thinking and the ability to reason about workflows, edge cases, and exception handling.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication across Operations, Product, Engineering, and leadership audiences.
