About the role

Product management is the function that guides every step of a product’s lifecycle — by focusing on the product and its customers first and foremost. Product Managers identify the most valuable problems to solve, enable their team to ship and iterate high-quality solutions quickly, and validate market impact. They leverage customer insights to deeply understand their problems, define the correct backlog priorities and create a clear Product brief. This role is responsible for owning the strategic direction and execution of multiple products or a high-impact product solution. You will take full ownership of the product's lifecycle, from defining the roadmap to ensuring timely, successful delivery. You will drive product strategy and execution with a customer-first approach, leveraging deep market and customer insights to shape product features that meet customer needs and align with business goals. As a leader within the product team, you will guide cross functional teams to deliver high-quality products that have measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product roadmap and manage features from ideation to delivery, ensuring high-quality, timely execution across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Navigate complexities of product dependencies, risks, and milestones across multiple teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Prioritize and execute the most impactful features that align with customer needs, business goals, and security standards. Make data-driven tradeoff decisions to ensure successful product outcomes.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, and Marketing, to ensure seamless product development, delivery, and launch. Foster collaboration across teams to drive clarity and alignment on goals, timelines, and execution.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy, ensuring the product stays ahead of market trends and customer expectations.
  • Regularly evaluate product outcomes against key performance indicators (KPIs) and use customer and usage data to iterate and refine the product roadmap.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to align on product goals and ensure all requirements are integrated into the roadmap and execution plan. Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external customers, partners, and vendors to deliver on business objectives.
  • Define and track key metrics for product success, ensuring the team has clear visibility on progress and performance. Use insights from data to drive continuous product improvements, ensuring the product consistently meets business goals and customer needs.
  • Provide strategic leadership in product planning and decision-making. Ensure alignment between product initiatives and broader company objectives, while guiding less experienced product managers and cross-functional team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ yrs experience in a Product Manager role with a proven track record of successfully delivering successful outcomes.
  • Exceptional ability to execute product roadmaps, balancing strategic vision with tactical delivery.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and make tradeoff decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience, with a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Deep customer and market insight, with a passion for understanding customer needs and translating those insights into impactful product features.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, taking ownership of product direction and execution while driving clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Expertise in using data and metrics to inform product decisions, track success, and optimize product performance.
  • Strong understanding of security standards and how to balance these with customer requirements and market trends.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to evangelize product vision and strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to gain buy-in.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior product managers or other team members.
  • Scrum Product Owner certification preferred
  • Deep domain expertise in payroll, benefits, time & labor, or human capital management preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
