Senior Product Manager, Amazon Freight, P&L Management
Amazon Freight is building the planning system that connects how we sell to how we perform, and we are hiring a Senior Product Manager to own it. You will build the models that turn cost, pricing, and commercial inputs into a Finance-aligned view of revenue, cost, margin, and volume across our multi-modal freight business. This is a builder's product role where you will own end-to-end multi-modal planning and P&L execution and attainment.
About the role
You will own the vision, roadmap, and priorities for Amazon Freight's end-to-end multi-modal planning system — the models and algorithms that produce the plan. You will incorporate cost, pricing, commercial, and volume inputs into the models and produce reliable, explainable outputs at a Finance-aligned grain. You will also own P&L execution and attainment, explain variance, and drive Path-to-Green actions with business owners.
You will build and run the models directly, partner with Business Intelligence and the planning team on a durable, documented data and query layer, and work across a multi-stakeholder input chain spanning Sales, Pricing, Cost/Supply, Finance, and business owners. You will validate inputs before they enter the plan and own the annual and quarterly planning submissions, explaining the plan, its variance, and attainment to leadership and partner teams.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, roadmap, and priorities for Amazon Freight's end-to-end multi-modal planning system.
- Incorporate cost, pricing, commercial, and volume inputs into models to produce reliable, explainable outputs aligned with Finance.
- Own P&L execution and attainment, explain variance, and drive Path-to-Green actions with business owners.
- Build and run planning models directly; partner with Business Intelligence on a durable, documented data and query layer.
- Work across a multi-stakeholder input chain (Sales, Pricing, Cost/Supply, Finance, business owners) and validate inputs before they enter the plan.
- Own annual and quarterly planning submissions; explain the plan, its variance, and attainment to leadership and partner teams.
- Reason from first principles and use data and judgment to decide what to build next.
A day in the life
You start in the models — checking an input that just landed, tracing how it flows through the plan, and validating it before it enters the model. You align an assumption with Pricing and a figure with Sales, then work with a Business Intelligence engineer on the query layer behind a planning model. You sit with a planner who built a model and fold it into the system. In the afternoon, you walk leadership through a variance, the driver, and the actions needed to attain the P&L. Your customers are the planning team, Finance, and the business owners who rely on the plan.
About the team
Amazon Freight's P&L Management team owns the planning that connects commercial ambition to financial performance across our multi-modal freight business. We own the planning assumptions, consume and audit the inputs that feed the plan, and produce the Finance-aligned view of revenue, cost, margin, and volume. We also drive execution and attainment against the committed P&L. We are a small, high-ownership team that values plain speaking, first-principles thinking, and building things others can rely on.
