Senior Product Engineer in AMTPP

About the role
As a Senior Product Engineer for AMTPP (focused on Bonding and Sealing for Automotive) within the central TEBG Product Engineering Organization, you will lead programs to improve quality, reduce costs, qualify alternate sources of supply, and expand product offerings to drive growth in the Bonding and Sealing field of AOEM business.
- Lead key Change Management Projects (CMP) for existing products and product line extensions alongside cross-functional teams.
- Support the development and maintenance of existing and new products for Structural Bonding Tapes, Weatherstrip Tapes, Acrylic Foam Tapes, and others within the Advanced Materials and Transportation Product Platform.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to drive implementation and launch.
- Support quality and plant teams in customer complaint resolution and product & process understanding (PPU).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Three (3) years of Product Engineering and/or Product Development experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Qualifications
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role include:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Materials, Polymer, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Experience in the tape industry and its material qualification processes.
- Interpersonal skills, including working with plant professionals, global laboratory, and business team personnel.
- Experience with pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, including structural tapes and background in acrylic chemistry.
- Experience with coating processes, radiation processing, and/or extrusion processing.
- Experience in regulated product categories with expertise in product risk assessments, product safety, and product reliability.
- Knowledge of product and/or process liners.
Schedule
- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
- Travel may include up to 10% domestic/international.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
