Senior Product Engineer
About the role
RELEX runs the planning decisions behind 600+ retailers and manufacturers worldwide, deciding at real scale what gets forecast, stocked, priced, promoted, and produced across the entire value chain. We've grown for 76 consecutive quarters and the first half of 2026 was the strongest in the company's history. We're a team of 2,000+ people, headquartered in Helsinki, with offices across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
As a Product Engineer, you'll help reinvent how RELEX builds and ships forecasting models—moving from a small number of monolithic models to a growing library of purpose-built, plugin-based ones used by 400 to 500+ customers. This role sits at the core of that transformation.
What we need you to do
- Design, build and improve plugin-based forecasting models end to end: feature engineering, testing, and iterating on performance in live customer environments
- Take forecasting problems from business need to a working model running for a customer, with real ownership over the decisions along the way
- Work directly across multiple customer environments, figuring out what generalizes and what needs to stay customer-specific
- Use AI and agentic tools as a core part of how you build, pushing what they can do rather than using them passively
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a distributed team, without a fixed playbook for how the work gets done
What you'll bring to the table
- Applied or theoretical understanding of modern forecasting and modelling methods
- A proven track record of independently owning ML or modelling work end to end, from first concept to running in production
- Genuine enthusiasm for agentic, AI-assisted engineering, and comfort being evaluated on how you reason through problems and direct AI tools, not only on manual coding
- Comfort working with real ambiguity and no fixed process
- Confidence making decisions independently and shipping in weeks, not months
- Comfort communicating directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer work (roughly 1 to 2 trips a year)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Bonus qualifications
- Prior experience in retail or supply chain
- Experience working with an international team, plus great communication and organizational skills
What we offer in return
- First-mover ownership of an agentic engineering capability that doesn't exist yet at RELEX, with real permission to start simple and fail fast
- An international career and learning opportunities
- A rapidly growing and financially robust software company with exciting opportunities for career growth
- Flexibility in how and where you work
- Room to thrive in a fast-growing global company with a good market position
- Practical benefits that support work, family, wellness, and everyday life
- Annual leave
- Diverse, inclusive, and supportive work culture
- Work that meaningfully reduces waste and improves sustainability
- Ownership, autonomy and flat hierarchies
- Two paid volunteering days each year
