This position is based at our facility in Wilsonville, OR. The expected annual salary range is $86,000 - $126,000 a year, plus eligibility for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
About the Role
The Senior Product Engineer is responsible for accurately interpreting purchaser specifications and translating them into complex drawings and bills-of-materials. This role supports the manufacture of high-quality products, including power distribution, control equipment, and aftermarket products. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop complex drawings and bills of material based on established product designs, ensuring sufficient detail to convey the purchaser’s equipment application accurately.
- Collaborate with customers, distributors, and sales teams to interpret and define new equipment applications while providing exceptional customer service.
- Advise production and purchasing personnel in interpreting information for accurate equipment production in accordance with purchaser requirements.
- Support a specific product line, which may include Low Voltage Assemblies, Medium Voltage Controls, Medium Voltage Assemblies, or Medium Voltage Switchgear.
- Maintain the engineering schedule to ensure timely completion of drawings, bills of material, and other key milestones to support production.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Power Center production, engineering, and purchasing teams.
- Provide a proactive, leadership-oriented approach to identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects or processes.
- Support product line quality by using and modifying quality check sheets, peer review processes, and NCR Root Cause/Corrective Action investigations.
- Stay updated on Eaton technical product developments through training or other means.
- Provide training and leadership to other engineers as needed.
- Support warranty and quality technicians and investigate warranty requests to determine root cause and solutions for customer issues.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

- No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Wilsonville, OR, will be considered (Active-Duty Military Service members exempt).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- Two years’ experience in product engineering, design engineering, or application engineering of electrical power distribution or control equipment.
- Working knowledge of applicable power distribution products and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, IEEE, NEC, etc.).
- Proficiency in developing mechanical and electrical drawings, reading and interpreting control schematics, specifications, and power flow diagrams.
- Sound critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze product failure issues to drive root cause.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of AutoDesk AutoCAD, Inventor, and Microsoft Office products.
- Understanding of electrical principles.

- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
