Technical Design

  • Define and maintain technical standards and best practices, establishing guidelines for coding, architecture, and deployment to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability across all projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools. Propose innovative solutions to enhance system performance, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with design, project management and stakeholders to translate UX designs & business requirements into technical designs: Bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that designs effectively address user needs and organizational goals.
  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, such as architecture diagrams, data models, and API specifications, to guide development and ensure team alignment.

Technical Delivery

  • Design and develop intuitive, responsive user interfaces that translate UX designs into functional web applications.
  • Architect and implement secure, high-performance backend services and APIs.
  • Integrate AI/ML models, including LLM integrations, into web applications, focusing on data integration and the development of innovative user experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, technical specifications, and delivery timelines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, especially for improving Bravo 17's capabilities in AI tooling for software engineering, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the full stack.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to enhance our solutions.

Collaboration

  • Effectively communicate complex design concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead and mentor junior user experience team members, fostering their growth and development as well as providing guidance on design best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that user needs are met throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead design reviews and critiques; facilitate brainstorming sessions.
  • Communicate design decisions effectively to stakeholders.

Stay Up-to-Date

  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in software engineering and AI development.
  • Continuously improve your skills and knowledge through training, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of practical experience in software development, with a proven track record as a Software Engineer or in a similar role that includes technical leadership.
  • Strong background in software engineering projects, emphasizing transactional, interactive, or data-intensive applications, with a focus on AI and cloud computing solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of service design patterns such as REST, microservices, and monolithic architectures.
  • Proficiency in transforming Figma designs into user interfaces (e.g., React, Angular).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead technology projects, operate autonomously, or collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with business acumen.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, but deep experience can serve as a substitute.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance Requirement: Secret Required, TS/SCI (preferred)
  • Location: Remote; however we are looking to grow our presence in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, and Washington DC areas. Candidates in these hubs will have opportunity to engage with local team members.
