Senior Product Development Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by leading product development of new Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) technologies, including technical leadership of Class 4/5 product development deliverables as well as Class 3 New Product Introduction (NPI) project leadership.
Responsibilities
- Implement new PSA technologies that meet the needs of our thin bonding business.
- Determine performance differentiators that matter to our customers and develop robust, scalable solutions.
- Support the advancement of our PSA platform to drive new product growth, establish a pipeline of new opportunities via inventions, and collaborate across the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Three (3) years of product development related new product commercialization experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Qualifications
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of new product development and commercialization in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Skills
- Performance measurement of PSA tapes and adhesives.
- Working knowledge of adhesive formulation and scale-up with a willingness to implement new technologies.
- Identifying key customer needs and translating them into winning solutions.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team to deliver results.
- Good time and project management skills to effectively advance products through a stage-gate commercialization process.
Work Arrangement
This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel may include up to 20%. Relocation may be authorized.
Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $124,127 - $151,710, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
