SENIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER - NINJA HEATED
About the role
SharkNinja is a global product design and technology company with a diversified portfolio of 5‑star rated lifestyle solutions that positively impact people’s lives in homes around the world. Powered by the Shark and Ninja brands, the company has a proven track record of bringing disruptive innovation to market across multiple product categories, driving significant growth and market share gains. Headquartered in Needham, Massachusetts with more than 4,100 associates, SharkNinja’s products are sold at key retailers, online and offline, and through distributors worldwide.
At SharkNinja we’re building an AI‑native culture — experimenting boldly, adopting new tools, and continuously raising what’s possible to create meaningful impact for consumers. The Product Development organization drives the global product roadmap from concept to shelf through the constant lens of the consumer. Acting as “product CEOs,” the team partners cross‑functionally with almost every other group in the business to drive high consumer satisfaction and business results. The team comprises individuals from varied professional and educational backgrounds — product marketing managers, consumer‑focused engineers, and more — all striving to deliver a 5‑star experience for every consumer on every product.
Responsibilities
- Support the Ninja business with the development of successful and profitable programs for key products to ensure continued growth of the product portfolio — responsible for day‑to‑day business management and enhancement of assigned Shark product lines, including driving product improvements and optimizations, conducting user research, and partnering with Engineers, Marketers, and others to roll out enhancements.
- Define, develop, and iterate product specifications, marrying consumer wants/needs, white space in the market, and product technologies as the primary consumer advocate.
- Take ownership of assigned categories’ sales performance — partnering with others to identify what products are working/not working and recommending new product opportunities to fill gaps.
- Lead competitive product analyses, giving business partners insight into how SharkNinja stacks up against the competition and maintaining a clear lens on constant improvement to make Shark the consumer’s top choice.
- Be the voice of legacy product lines: share insights and learnings from consumers and the market with Product Developers focused on new product development to ensure critical features and feedback are incorporated into next‑generation products.
- Partner with SharkNinja Testing and Quality organizations to define, develop, and manage quality and performance testing procedures.
- Act as the product “expert” for cross‑functional team member questions and concerns.
Requirements
- 4–5+ years of experience in product development, product marketing, marketing, human factors engineering, or a related field — preferably at a consumer goods company.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Management, Engineering, or a combination of the above.
- A “100% on” consumer‑first perspective when introducing new products/processes or improving current products.
- A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi‑functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly effective communication skills — both written (presentation/email) and face‑to‑face (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and make effective presentations to all levels of management). COMMUNICATING FOR IMPACT, one of SharkNinja’s SUCCESS DRIVERS, is critical in this role.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast‑paced environment.
- A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment.
- The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward.
