Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design of core collaboration features for an AI-native chat platform.
• Tackle complex challenges like threading, message composition, and progressive disclosure, ensuring AI feels like a natural participant.
• Define interaction patterns and build a robust design system.
• Own the end-to-end design process for core features including threading, notifications, and rich embeds, focusing on high-density information hierarchy.
• Collaborate closely with leadership and engineering to rapidly prototype and ship new interaction patterns that integrate AI into team workflows.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system that ensures a cohesive and effortless user experience across the entire collaborative interface.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing core UX for messaging or real-time collaboration products like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong systems thinking and a portfolio highlighting complex interaction design beyond visual polish, with a focus on effortless conversation flows.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about working hybrid in San Francisco to drive velocity through in-person collaboration.
