About the role

A Senior Product Designer at Hiive will lead the design and implementation of key product features and initiatives, collaborating with engineers to deliver front-end code and optimize the user experience based on user feedback. The role involves conducting user research, usability testing, and iterating on UX solutions. Responsibilities also include designing and delivering web and mobile interfaces, owning and evolving the user experience output of a product team, presenting design concepts, prototypes, and production demos, and supporting others around you.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and implementation of key product features and initiatives, from conceptualization through iteration and delivery in code using AI agents (primarily Claude).
  • Collaborating with engineers in delivering front-end code for new features and optimizing the user experience based on user feedback.
  • Collaborating with product managers, business stakeholders, and other designers to refine product requirements and design solutions that meet both user needs and business goals.
  • Conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to iterate and improve UX solutions.
  • Designing and delivering web and mobile interfaces, with a focus on creating intuitive and delightful user experiences across devices.
  • Owning and evolving the user experience output of a product team in combination with engineering.
  • Presenting design concepts, prototypes, and production demos to stakeholders across the company.
  • Fielding questions and engaging in detailed conversations about the user experience, development, and business ramifications of a design.
  • Supporting others around you, championing the company values with a positive outlook.
  • Responding effectively and respectfully to various working conditions with a growth mindset.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional design experience.
  • Experience working with Claude Code, Claude Design or equivalent AI tooling for producing user interfaces.
  • Experience facilitating research and user testing.
  • Experience working with and developing design systems.
  • Experience collaborating with development to push production code.

Qualifications

  • An online or PDF portfolio (please include any passwords).

Skills

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Experience with AI and automated tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
  • Understanding of web and mobile development technologies.
