About the role

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and development of cutting-edge wearable and other consumer devices. They will collaborate closely with Industrial Designers, Hardware Engineers, and UX Designers to bring innovative products to market.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design and development of consumer electronics, focusing on precision and detail
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners in Asia, North America, and Europe to drive product development
  • Build and test prototypes quickly to evaluate design concepts
  • Work with a wide range of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Apply a deep understanding of mechanics of materials to solve complex problems
  • Lead projects independently and mentor colleagues across different departments
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to project planning and documentation

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience as a consumer product design engineer
  • Experience using 3D CAD (NX or Solidworks) to design densely packaged consumer electronic parts
  • Ability to prototype quickly and effectively using standard test equipment
  • Knowledgeable about a wide variety of materials and scalable manufacturing processes
  • Comfortable with the unknown and the ambiguous, striving to turn engineering challenges into reality

Qualifications

  • Project experience in consumer product design
