Senior Product Design Engineer

About the role
The Sr Product Development Engineer will design, develop, and test new valve products, ensuring they meet customer requirements and adhere to industry standards. This role involves collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Sourcing teams to deliver scalable, manufacturable, and customer-focused solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products according to company requirements.
- Create test plans and conduct testing of prototype products.
- Identify potential patents and trademarks, working with the legal team for filings.
- Ensure products meet all necessary standards and regulations.
- Maintain robust technical documentation, including technical files, calculations, manuals, and declarations of conformity.
- Continuously test and evaluate products to ensure quality and functionality.
- Work with Product Management to identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in the product development process.
- Stay updated with industry trends and standards to ensure product competitiveness.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
- Supervise one designer and provide technical direction to design and drafting personnel.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- 5-10 years of relevant experience, with valves experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents in English.
- Proficiency in applying engineering calculations to product design.
- Experience with CAD (Creo and Windchill preferred) and engineering & simulation tools.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR regulations.
Pay
Annual salary range is $121,800.00 to $182,400.00, plus benefits and incentive plans.
