Senior Product Compliance Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Review projects to ensure product compliance in a proactive and documented manner.
  • Provide compliance direction to the new product development team during the design phases.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory compliance matters to leverage and fulfill certifications for products.
  • Resolve compliance issues and recommend process changes.
  • Collaborate with external groups and internal engineering planning and design teams to ensure compliance standards.
  • Participate in Product Scope Reviews to ensure new products are appropriately planned for with regards to market regulations and consensus standards.
  • Understand and navigate consensus standards and work with Engineering to appropriately design products to meet requirements.
  • Participate in Test Plan process to verify products meet any compliance performance requirements.
  • Review marketing collateral to ensure market compliance and standard compliance.
  • Review product markings to ensure compliance to relevant standards/regulations.
  • Interpret federal/state/international regulations as they apply to our products, processes, and/or procedures and advise on the impact of regulations.
  • Audits and evaluates current policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance with regulations and statutes.
  • Research emerging compliance engineering practices and standards.
  • Work with regulatory agencies and 3rd Party Test Labs to obtain accurate reports and documentation.
  • Work with Sales, Product Support, and Customer Service to address customer requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Industry, Federal and State OSHA, and Municipality safety and product standards/regulations, testing and certification requirements, and ISO and US Consensus related symbols is required.
  • Experience with manufacturing methods and procedures preferred.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, planning and organizational skills, and capability to facilitate projects and solutions.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication within a team environment.
  • International travel required.
