Job Summary

This position focuses on product data and business intelligence, supporting various business initiatives such as analytics, reporting, product filings, and the development of new product capabilities through collaboration with multiple business and IT areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on complex problems/projects requiring in-depth analysis of multiple factors.
  • Deliver critical analytical insights to support product management.
  • Research and conduct high-quality analyses, reports, and communicate key product performance metrics.
  • Develop scalable and flexible data reporting and analysis solutions to meet team needs.
  • Maintain and monitor product performance/results in coordination with actuarial, loss analytics, and performance analytics teams.
  • Monitor the market for emerging opportunities and identify competitor and industrial changes impacting product effectiveness and pricing positions.
  • Provide technical and analytical leadership, managing aspects of project deliverables including cross-functional program management, data gathering and manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Formulate an analytic data-driven approach to address business questions around product, pricing, processes, and underwriting rules.
  • Collaborate with product management and actuaries in developing and filing class, rate, and/or form filings.
  • Create and develop automated technical solutions to complex manually intensive processes using Microsoft tools.
  • Enhance/maintain departmental data/databases.
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance work related to various inputs and outputs from the data warehouse and Business Intelligence application(s).

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years as a product analyst or similar role with responsibilities listed above.
  • Advanced/solid understanding of personal insurance business, including products, coverage, claims, underwriting, distribution channels, and business/sale centers.
  • Leadership, innovation, and initiating skills.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and SQL.
  • Experience in Property Casualty insurance.
  • Experience in business process and/or data analysis and data profiling.
  • Ability to set priorities and perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to adapt to a paperless environment.
  • Inter-relationship component: Excellent working relationships with staff, partners, clients, and insurance carriers; effective and friendly communication; team player; professional representation; thorough review of claim files.

Working Conditions

This is a position based in a professional office environment or remote/hybrid setting, depending on company policy. Standard business hours apply, with occasional extended hours required to meet project deadlines or attend leadership meetings. Frequent use of a computer, phone system, and claims management software. Must be comfortable navigating multiple systems and screens simultaneously. Requires clear, professional verbal communication and active listening skills. Fast-paced environment with performance metrics. Occasional travel (up to 10–15%) to company offices, vendor sites, or industry conferences. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (up to 8 hours per day). Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents. Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and video conferencing tools. Must be able to read and interpret documents, emails, and computer screens. Extended screen time is required. Must be able to hear and speak clearly on the phone for extended periods. Use of a headset is common and may be required. Minimal physical movement required; occasional walking or standing may be needed. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally (e.g., for transporting laptops or presentation materials).
